ArchiveHumanity is operated by MethodWare LLC. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it. If you have questions, contact us.

2. Data we collect

• Account data — your name and email address when you register.
• Memorial content — names, dates, biographical text, and photographs you upload for a memorial.
• Payment data — processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
• Usage data — standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and performance monitoring.

3. How we use your data

• To operate your account and display your memorials.
• To send transactional emails (account verification, password resets, tribute notifications).
• To process payments via Stripe.
• To investigate abuse or security incidents.

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties except as described in this policy.

4. Photos and memorial content

Photographs are stored securely via Cloudinary. Memorial pages are publicly accessible by default so that anyone scanning a QR code can view them. You can delete a memorial at any time from your dashboard, which permanently removes all associated content.

5. Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

6. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data and memorial content are permanently deleted. Server logs are retained for up to 90 days.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, contact us and we will respond within 30 days.

8. Security

Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. All traffic is encrypted over HTTPS. We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, though no system is completely secure.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified to registered users by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
